The first HCA Africa Symposium took place online in March 2022. The Symposium aimed to connect researchers and create opportunities for forming new groups and collaborations working on single-cell and spatial genomics, computational techniques, and other methods. Since then the HCA Africa community has grown to more than 85 members from 13 countries in the region, through training workshops and meetings.
HCA is considering ways of building on these activities to build and support a single cell community in Africa, to increase HCA participation.
